Dorothy Louise Martin

Dorothy Louise Martin formerly of Flushing, age 81, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Pines of Swartz Creek. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Rossell Funeral Home. Chaplain Jim Salo will officiate. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris, MI. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Dorothy was born in Benton, Missouri on December 28, 1931. Her legal parents were George and Dorothy Dimple (Shelton) Cooley. She married Theodore Charles Martin in Sikeston, Missouri on September 11, 1952. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2007. Dorothy was a homemaker and also a former Career Center Advisor at the Flushing High School. She was a beloved mother and grandmother.

Dorothy is survived by: daughter, Laura Lynn and husband Edward Earl Horton, Sr. of Flushing and their son, Zachary Charles and wife Amanda Martin of Umatilla, FL; daughter, Linda Louise Martin-Seng and husband R. Michael Seng III of Clarkston and children, Rachel Kailyn Louise Seng and Ethan Michael Seng of Clarkston; son, Bradley Charles and wife Mary Helen (Bartz) Martin of Clarkston, and their daughters, Emily Elizabeth Martin of British Virgin Islands and Amanda Marie Martin of Clarkston; daughter, Lydia Jeanne (Martin) and husband Paul David DuCharme of Grand Blanc, and their sons, Jacob Paul DuCharme and Joshua Charles DuCharme of Grand Blanc; many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Baby Martin; parents; sister, Norma Jean (Cooley) Reeves of California; brother, Kenneth Dale Cooley of Missouri.
