Sandra Ann Fletcher, Bisbing, Panzlau, Bressler of Flushing -“Sandy” went peacefully to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at home with her daughter and family after a very brief yet courageous battle against pancreatic cancer.
Sandy was born to Ross and Augusta Fletcher on October 9, 1943. She graduated from Atherton High School and Michigan State University with a degree in home economics and education. During her career, she taught 4thgrade, home economics, child development and many other subjects while working for Atherton Community Schools and Flint Community Schools. Throughout her life, Sandy was an active member of Court Street United Methodist Church, Calvary United Methodist Church and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church; knowing her Lord despite institution and yet feeling closest to God while working in her yard planting trees, flowers, herbs and gardening. For many years, Sandy enjoyed her service to the Detroit Conference United Methodist Church Camp Program at Judson Collins as a camp counselor and dean where she met Mac Greene creating a precious life-long friendship.
A special thank you is extended to the ladies of the Millington Quilting Club, members of the Genesee County Herb Society, Heartland Home Care and Hospice, and many of Sandy’s dear friends and family members for their support and prayers during her illness.
Sandy leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Serena Panzlau (Greg) and Jona Kean (Joshua), grandsons Jonathan and Jacob, her “Best Girl” granddaughter Katie Ann, brothers-in-law Thomas Panzlau (Marquita) and David Panzlau (JoAnne), nephews Nick, John and Nathan Panzlau, niece Lauren Panzlau, close cousins Jan, Mark, Nick and Mary Wojtysiak, special sisters Donna Schwerin and Sheryl Kammerzell, and many other extended family members. Sandy is preceded in death by her husband John Panzlau and brother Edward Fletcher.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
A private celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date.
