Mesaros, Gustav of Flushing, age 88, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Pastor Steven Maske will officiate. Burial will be at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the church.
Gustav was born in Horne Zelenice, Czechoslovakia on April 20, 1923, the son of Martin and Anna (Galko) Mesaros. He married Joanne Tibbetts in Flint on September 16, 1950. Gus was a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church and a member of WFLA. He worked at Chevrolet for 40 years. Gus enjoyed fishing, dancing, and gardening and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joanne; children, Daniel and wife Donna Mesaros, David and wife Brenda Mesaros, Carla Carle; grandchildren, Jacqueline, Nicole, Joel, Christopher, Jim, Alyssa, Jameson, Andrew; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Kindle; sister-in-law, Veronica Mesaros. Gus was preceded in death by his brother, John Mesaros and son-in-law, Andy Carle.
